The Canadian Mental Health Association, Oxford is one organization in a group of agencies and individuals working in partnership. The Oxford County Mental Health & Addictions Network identifies and plans for county mental health services and resources. It is important for all of us to be aware of these partnerships. Efficient and appropriate service planning and provision involves the co-operation, flexibility and commitment of many people.

Our Community Partners

South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is a crown agency responsible for the planning, integration, and funding of nearly 200 health service providers including CMHA-Oxford. Our Multi year accountability agreement with the LHIN can be accessed by clicking on the link on our Home page.

Oxford ACTT is the Assertive Community Treatment Team from Regional Mental Health Care, London. The ACT Team is a multi disciplinary community team with professional and clinical experience in supporting individuals with a serious mental illness. Their primary goal is to provide efficient and effective treatment, rehabilitation, and support services that enable individuals to lead successful and satisfying lives in the community of their choice.

Wellkin is a children’s mental health organization providing services to the community from offices based in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg. CMHA is working with OECYC in the provision of the 24-hour children’s’ emergency response system. Staff from OECYC is also involved on the Community Mental Health Education Committee.

Woodstock Hospital is the Schedule I Hospital for Oxford County, meaning they are the recognized psychiatric facility for residents of the county. They provide inpatient (17 bed unit) and outpatient psychiatric services for both adults and children. Together with OECYC and CMHA-Oxford, Woodstock Hospital is involved in planning for children’s emergency services. Included in our partnership with Woodstock Hospital is the provision of a safe room at the hospital for crisis/community support workers to meet with individuals in distress. Woodstock Hospital is also one of our major referral sources for housing and case management and educational workshops. In addition to participation on the Oxford County Mental Health & Addictions Network, Woodstock Hospital is generally active with CMHA during Mental Health Awareness Week and Mental Illness Awareness Week activities.

Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics  are a new primary health care delivery model funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Nurse practitioners are the lead providers of our primary health care team which includes a collaborative Physician, RPN’s, Addiction and Mental Health Counsellors for children and adults, Community Service Coordinator, Pharmacists, and Administrative/Reception staff. We provide comprehensive, accessible, and coordinated family health care services in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Oxford County Community Health Center (OCCHC) employ interdisciplinary teams of health care providers such as nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians, health promoters and physicians. The CHC team members work collaboratively to provide primary care, health promotion and community development programs and services to priority populations.

St. Joseph’s Health Care/ Regional Mental Health Care is a major patient care, teaching and research centre with a distinguished legacy of service to London, Southwestern Ontario and the veterans of Canada, dating back more than 140 years. St. Joseph’s five key role areas include acute/ambulatory care, complex care and veterans care, long-term care, rehabilitation and specialized geriatrics and specialized mental health care. Facilities and services including St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkwood Hospital, Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care and Regional Mental Health Care London and St. Thomas are part of the St. Joseph’s family. Regional Mental Health Care offers unique and comprehensive client-centred, evidence-based specialized care with a commitment to education and research.
